The OPEN DAYS – European Week of Regions and Cities is an annual four-day event during which cities and regions showcase their capacity to create growth and jobs, implement European Union cohesion policy, and prove the importance of the local and regional level for good European governance.
Under the European Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generation 2012, European Week of Regions and Cities will be a time for positive reflection during the overall discussion on the future European cohesion policy. This event will take place from 8th to 11th October in Brussels.
The thematic priorities discussed will be:
• Smart and green growth for all
• Territorial cooperation: an asset for Europe
• Delivering results
ENNA will be participating at the Open Days, raising awareness with local authority practitioners of our role in fostering better civil society - government relationships through compacts and other structured framework agreements. ENNA's Secretary General wil be attending several workshops looking at partnership working involving civil society actors.
