The EU's transparency register was launched last year, after the European Parliament and the Commission created a single register of lobbyists for the two institutions; however CSOs working in the field have criticised the register for failing to provide accurate, up-to-date and easily comparable information to the citizens of the EU.
Reported previously by ENNA, the European Commission decided to launch this consultation from 08.06.2012 to 31.08.2012.
The objective of this consultation is to collect data in connection with preparing the annual report required under point 27 of the interinstitutional agreement between the European Parliament and the European Commission on the Transparency Register for organisations and individuals acting as independent persons involved in the development and implementation of EU policies.
