National Council for Voluntary Organisations secures funding for the ‘Building Bridges’ project!
The National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO), with the support of the UK Government`s Arab Partnership Fund, has launched the project “Building Bridges” to help civil society in North Africa to build a new model of democracy after the Arab Spring.

The project will be focused on three points:

-improving standards of governance, capacity and management
-facilitating collective advocacy to government and international donors
-developing detailed frameworks for participation and structured policy-making with their respective governments

The countries concerned by this project include: Egypt, Tunisia and Libya.

This project will work to help the groups that emerged during the Arab Spring to consolidate their work and put the right structures in place so that civil society can help shape the fledgling democratisation process. Particular importance will be given on organisations which support work with young people, women, human rights and social inclusion.

The budget project, for three years, is valued at approximately £350,000.
