Twice a year, the European Commission conducts an opinion pool to test people's opinions on policies adopted and thereby inform EU policy choices.
The bi-annual opinion poll conducted between 12 and 27 May 2012 shows that European`s people views on the Europe 2020 strategy is supportive.
The most important priorities according to the EU public opinion is unemployment, inflation and the economic situation. Even if there are relevant variations between countries, the opinion pool underlines that Europeans are becoming less pessimistic, with more people saying that the worst of the crisis is behind us.
Obviously responses about the situation of national economies differ between various member States, from the extremes of Germany to Greece.
However this research underlines that citizens continue to see the EU as the most effective actor in tackling the effects of the economic crisis.
