Preparation are now underway for the launch of the Campaign for Volunteer Rights and the Charter on 18th September 2012 in the European Parliament.

Marian Harkin MEP and the Interest Group for Volunteering have agreed to partner with the Youth Forum to launch the Campaign and discuss action to improve the legal situation for volunteers in countries across Europe and how the Charter and PAVE can help as an advocacy tools in this. We decided to launch the Campaign here as the European Parliament's Report on "Recognising and promoting cross-border voluntary activities in the EU", adopted in June of this year fully backed the Charter as a tool for policymakers regarding Volunteering.

The event will be held on Tuesday 18th September at 10.00 - 12.30 in the European Parliament (ASP 5G1). The full Agenda and Invitation will follow at the beginning of September. In the meantime - save the date!
